The Yamaha LS6 ARE is a refined electro-acoustic western guitar with a luxurious finish, that plays nicely and delivers a powerful sound. This natural guitar features a solid top of Engelmann spruce, which is a rarely used wood type harvested from the Rocky Mountains. Lightweight yet sturdy, this LS6 ARE offers a powerful, open sound. Furthermore, the sides and back are made of rosewood, and an SRT Zero Impact contact pickup is included without detriment to the body's surface.

Yamaha LS6 ARE: Acoustic Resonance Enhancement

ARE stands for Acoustic Resonance Enhancement. If you think about the term literally, you'll understand that it is a process that enhances the acoustic resonance, of course! This is done through an ingenious process whereby temperature, moisture and air pressure are controlled to change the molecular characteristics of the wood. The result is a sound that you typically only get with guitars that have been played for years. Thanks to the ARE process, this solid Engelmann-spruce-top guitar comes out of the box sounding great, and will only keep getting better with time.

General characteristics

This medium-jumbo guitar has a braced interior, developed to improve the low-frequency response without losing the LS-series characteristic sparkle. The 5-part mahogany/rosewood neck is constructed in such a way as to avoid bending and warping, and thanks to its seamless integration with the body, the sound is fuller as well. A bound fretboard and slim neck add additional playability to the LS6 ARE, and luxurious accents such as the mother-of-pearl position markers and tortoise shell pickguard make it a true beauty.
