This electro-acoustic guitar by Ibanez belongs to the Signature Model series. The EP5-BP is a Steve Vai Signature model and has a Euphoria Special Thin body. Because the body has a cutaway, you can easily reach the higher frets. The guitar is also equipped with a Fishman pickup with Ibanez preamp, including tone control and tuner.
Ibanez EP5-BP Steve Vai Signature Model: solid top
The EP5-Black Pearl has a top made of solid Engelmann spruce which is a wood type known for its full and bright sound. The sides and back of this semi-acoustic guitar are made of solid mahogany that provides sufficient treble and mids. The neck is also made of mahogany, has 20 frets and is attached to the body at the 14th fret. The fretboard is made of rosewood and what's special about this model is the 'Vai' inlay on the twelfth position.
Fishman Sonicore pickup with Ibanez preamp
The EP5-BP has a Fishman Sonicore pickup with Ibanez AEQ210TF preamplifier. This preamp has a tuner, basic tone control (bass and treble) and a phase switch for the reduction of feedback.
