Once again, Yamaha offers the advanced guitarist a lot of quality for a competitive price. The Yamaha APX700II is a complete electro-acoustic steel-string guitar with a warm, powerful sound. The design is just as enjoyable with a body equipped with a beautiful Vintage Sunburst high-gloss lacquer and a sound hole decorated with wooden inlays. This solid top is also equipped with a cutaway, a built-in System64 preamp, 3-band EQ and a tuner with display.

Amplifying the APX-700II

With its advanced design, the special ART system of the APX700 II ensures incredibly accurate sound reproduction of the original acoustic sound of the guitar. The pickups pick up the sound not from the bridge, but from the top so that it delivers the fuller sound created by the body, rather than the thinner sound from the strings. When the guitar is amplified by an acoustic guitar amp or a PA mixer, for example, the acoustic tone colour is much more accurately retained.

The acoustic sound

The APX-700II has a solid un-amplified sound thanks to the solid top. Its warmth and clarity come from the use of spruce for the top combined with the nato wood used for the sides and back. Yamaha has also equipped this electro-acoustic steel-string with an oval sound hole, characteristic of the APX construction; this works to give the guitar and especially thick sound in higher mid-frequencies.
