Allmänt

Ron Emory is a widely acknowledged punk rock guitarist. As he is also a right-minded guitar enthusiast and musician, Fender invited him to co-develop this acoustic guitar. Its colour is derived from the usual paint job for guitars in the thirties, and also the parlor body commemorates earlier days. Folk, blues and country music guitarists love the sound characteristics of this, somewhat more compact, body.

Fender Ron Emory Loyalty Parlor: looks

The body of this model is made of laminated mahogany, as is the rosewood-fretboard neck. The stylish Vintage Sunburst finish - in combination with the three-layer tortoise pickguard - is truly a sight to behold. Also, it features the Loyalty logo next to the 12th fret for some added distinction.

Eye for detail

The Loyalty Parlor features a '70s-style headstock, 19 vintage-style frets, a rosewood Viking bridge and a compensated Graphtech synthetic-bone saddle. Together with the solid open tuners, these components give this parlor steel-string guitar a stable, rich sound. The back of the body brandishes Ron Emory's signature. This Fender steel-string parlor guitar is very affordable and has a very distinct character.

Omdat ik een B-keuze model tegen een gereduceerd tarief heb gekocht vind ik de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding in orde. Als ik het volle tarief had betaald, had ik hem waarschijnlijk ingeruild voor een vergelijkbaar model van een ander merk. Deze (in China gemaakte) gitaar is mooi, lekker licht en handzaam en heeft een vrij luide klank voor zijn formaat. Qua speelgemak op de hals komt hij echter niet in de buurt van mijn Stratocaster en het eerste wat ik moest doen nadat ik hem had uitgepakt was de hals afstellen, vanwege de fret-buzz. Al met al een Fender die met de hakken over de sloot een voldoende scoort.
