If you want to shred just like Satriani, you'll have to practise at lot. Either way, you can make a great start with the JS100, designed by Ibanez in collaboration with Satriani himself! This guitar has a basic construction and might look just as basic as well. However, it's been crammed with all kinds of techniques to give you the same playing experience as the famous virtuoso!
Great detail to user-friendliness
Firstly, the JS100 has an Edge III tremolo system and a Top Lock system which make sure that the strings will remain in tune even after intensive use of the tremolo. The guitar has an arched top for greater playability and a small fretboard radius which makes striking chords and playing barre chords a piece of cake. The extra low Edge III will give your playing hand all the room it needs.
Sound of Satriani
What's unique about this guitar is its Tilt-Neck Joint which means that the neck has been mounted on the body slantwise to give you more playing comfort. By pressing the potentiometer you get three extra configuration options for the pickups to get the most out of your guitar. The Axis Humbucker 1 in the neck position has a balanced sound and is excellent for chords, while the Axis Humbucker 2 in the bridge position has more bass and is fit for harmonics as it picks up separate notes perfectly.
