After the body was painted with a transparent red lacquer it was sandblasted to create parallel grooves in the ash which are accentuated by the black filler. As wood is a natural product no piece of wood is the same, which means that every (bass) guitar that underwent this treatment looks truly unique.

Construction

The open grain structure of ash is perfect for a finish such as this one. Additionally, it is much lighter than the more common alder and produces a balanced base tone. The slender maple neck comes from the American Standard series and has a comfortable C profile. Fitted with 20 medium-jumbo frets, the maple fretboard adds a light sparkle to the overall sound. As usual, the P-bass is equipped with only a single pickup: an American Standard Alnico V Split Single Coil P-bass pickup in this case. It is this pickup that gives you the powerful, characterful P-Bass Punch. A stable American Standard P-Bass bridge with four separate saddles ensures excellent tuning stability in combination with the open gear tuners.
