Are you on the lookout for a real American Fender that doesn't break the bank? If so, then you should take a look at one of the guitars from the American Special series. The black HSS Stratocaster has a traditional double cutaway body and large '70s-style headstock and logo. It offers the classic Fender look and sound with additional modern features such as a quick, narrow neck with 22 jumbo frets, a humbucker pickup in bridge position and a special Greasebucket tone circuit. This set includes a deluxe gig bag and a polishing cloth for wiping away greasy fingerprints.

The Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS’s body is made of solid alder. Alder is a popular type of wood because of its low weight, balanced tone and excellent resonance - perfect for various types of music but mostly loved by rock and blues guitarists. The bolted-on maple neck has a 22-fret rosewood fretboard. The jumbo frets prevent your fingers from touching the fretboard and make it easier and smoother to perform string bends. This Strat also has a vintage-style tremolo and a set of high-quality self-lubricating tuners.

HSS pickup configuration and Greasebucket tone circuit

The letters HSS in the model's name stand for the guitar's single humbucker and two single-coil pickups. The middle and neck pickups are Texas Special single-coils. Thanks to their overwound Alnico 5 magnets, these pickups produce that coveted Texas Blues sound, with its tight bass notes, sparkling mids and crystal clear trebles. The bridge pickup is an Alnico 5 Fender Atomic humbucker, and it's excellently suited for rougher music styles such as rock and metal. The Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS has a master volume control, as well as two tone controls that filter out the trebles without adding extra bass thanks to the Greasebucket circuit.
