Behringer has done quite well for itself. The brand was a little behind when it came to MIDI controllers and DJ gear, but they definitely set the record straight when they came out with the CMD series. The line features modular controllers that all match one another visually and technically, and that are also physically compatible. This DV-1 has a number of extra functions on board, which makes it a great addition to any CMD DJ set. Some of these features include more control for dual effects per deck, along with different transport dials and shortcuts for lengthening or shortening loops.

Backlit keys and rotary encoders

All of the keys on the DV-1 are backlit to provide you with continuous status feedback. It also means that you can spend less time looking at your screen, though if you are working on your screen you'll still see the statuses of different functions, even if you're in a different tab. The controller is furthermore equipped with 8 rotary controllers, all of which have their own unique LED ring. This features works to continuously display the parameter of a given rotary, and because they are endless rotaries, you can keep turning them.

Software, optical and physical connections

The controllers from Behringer's CMD series can all be easily connected with one another. This counts for software and hardware. Also, thanks to the MIDI protocol, the controller can be used with just about any DJ software. Furthermore, all of the controllers have the same dimensions so they match perfectly with one another. And if you weren't convinced yet, there's also a unique mounting plate on the bottom of each controller, so you can screw them together to create one seamless set!
