If you own a Samsung smartphone or tablet that's equipped with Samsung Professional Audio technology, then you can use the iRig Mic HD-A using the included USB OTG cable. The same goes for Android devices with a USB output that run on the Android 5 operating system or an app that supports USB audio input.
iRig Mic HD-A: digital quality
When you connect an analogue microphone to your smartphone or tablet, the sound you get will be dependent on the quality of the internal converter and preamp. When you use the digital iRig Mic HD-A, however, you get a top-notch preamp and A/D converter so you can make outstanding recordings in 24-bit/48 kHz quality. With the help of the gain control and LED indicator, you'll be sure to record at just the right volume level. The microphone can also be connected to a Windows computer using the included USB cable.
The complete package
This package consists of the iRig Mic HD-A microphone, two USB cables of 1.5 metres each (for Android and PC), a storage pouch and a mic clamp. With the included thread adapter, you can mount the clamp to just about any mic stand. IK Multimedia have also developed a free app, available in the Google Play Store, so you can get started recording right away. Use EZ Voice to apply all kinds of effects to your voice, a real-time version with extreme delay is available for devices that support Samsung Professional Audio.
