Kali Audio have done it again and present a definitive winner at an almost laughably low price. Here to succeed the IN-8, the IN-8 Second Wave 3-way studio monitor features a handful of modern upgrades and comes with the kind of first-class specs you won't easily find for a similar amount of money. For a start, the tweeter and the mid-woofer are made of new, lighter material and have been installed coaxially to effectively counter any mid-range versus high-range phase issues.

What's also new is that the Second Wave offers a whopping 12dB self-noise reduction, which is quite impressive. In fact, Kali claim that the only noise you'll hear will be in the audio signal itself. Next to less noise, you also get the enhanced treble performance offered by the all-new DSP loaded in this active studio monitor; new woofers made of lighter material with less unwanted distortion as a result; a fool-and-child-proof soft-dome tweeter that defaults to its normal position after it's pushed in; and a flexible design that allows for horizontal positioning if needed. All in all, you're looking an unbelievably solid bit of kit for mixing as well as casual listening.
