While production has stopped on the stage beast that is the Roland RD-88, Roland doesn't disappoint with the upgraded RD-88 EX. This is essentially the original RD-88 but with a mass of extras, including overall improved sound plus the addition of SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano 3, which means you're getting the even more realistic and natural response of piano sounds backed up by physical modelling.

While the SuperNATURAL piano is likely to be your go-to, this model also supplies a whole bank of other sounds powered by the multi-faceted ZEN-Core engine, which is the same engine that lies at the core of countless Roland synth and keyboard models. Roland has even built in a small set of speakers to support home rehearsals or smaller gigs while the handy display and set of encoders grant smooth and fast control. More than enough effects have also been piled on top and that's alongside the Apple Mainstage integration support and the fact that this instrument weighs less than 14 kilos. All in all, you're looking at any gigging key-head's best mate.
