With this Ultramafic Kit (Straight), you can make your own patch cables at any length you want!
Lava Cable Mini Ultramafic Kit ST: what's in it
Most guitarists are familiar with this common rule of thumb: the lower the capacitance, the less chance of signal loss. Loss can also occur where the core meets the plug, which is why the cables in this kit have a core made of 99.95% pure silver-plated copper, SPC, which keeps the capacitance amazingly low. They also feature incredibly efficient shielding, boasting an impressive signal-to-noise ratio. As well as the cable and plugs, this kit comes with a handy wire-stripping tool.

Omdat ik nieuwe kabels nodig had besloot ik ook de patchkabels te updaten naar de Lava Cable Mini Ultrafic. Een soldeerloze bekabelings methode, Ik repareer en soldeer ook kabels maar wilde dit graag proberen.
Even op youtube een begeleidings filmpje erbij en hop. Het pakket bevat voldoende kabel en 10 haakse pluggen goed voor 5 kabels, inclusief een striptangetje.
Gedurende de instructies mijn eerste kabel gemaakt. Even testen en helaas er ging iets fout waardoor ik opnieuw moest proberen.
Nu lukte het wel, maar omdat de plug glad is en de kabel wat stug is het soms moeilijk om de laatste 2 slagen in de schroefdraad te draaien. Dit maakt het niet sneller dan solderen wat op youitube gepretendeerd wordt.
De kwaliteit van de kabel is echter geweldig! Een mooier transparant geluid met tophoog. Vele malen doeltreffender dan met mijn oude kabels.

J'ai fabriqué mes patches sans difficulté. il faut suivre les instructions trouvées sur Youtube, et non pas celles livrées avec le produit (en gros il faut en plus de ce qui est imprimé, enlever la gaine noire pour éviter des court-circuits). C'est un coup à prendre et un cutter n'est pas de trop (l'outil livré ne suffit pas vraiment), mais je n'ai pas caché de câble lors de mes montages.
Le son est inchangé (mais bon, j'utilise un buffer alors heureusement !), le cable se met correctement en place. A voir dans le temps si les cables tiendront, mais comme je les utilise pour un board où je ne débranche/rebranche quasi jamais je ne suis pas inquiet.
Je suis satisfait et convaincu par Lava Cable dont j'utilise aussi le kit à souder ELC.
