Well thought out and satisfyingly practical, this piece of signal-routing gear is a great solution when you've got an old USB keyboard without DIN-MIDI connectors you'd like to use to control a vintage synth without the need for a computer.

So What Does the BomeBox Do?

The BomeBox is essentially a mini-processor that regulates your MIDI traffic. As a MIDI hub/router, it comes with a serious number of connection options, including two MIDI connectors, two network ports, wireless MIDI via WiFi and, of course, USB-MIDI. Do keep in mind that for wireless MIDI, you will need two BomeBoxes; one set up as the receiver, the other as the transmitter. It may seem like a humble and straightforward looking box, but you can tweak every last setting via a web interface using a smart device. While it may take a bit of an investment time and money wise, the Bome BomeBox MIDI Hub is worth every penny when you want to upgrade your possibly retro MIDI gear with USB functionality.
