The Roland BK-5 is a remarkably elaborate and user-friendly keyboard for one-man bands and amateur musicians. This backing keyboard features a wide range of accompanying instruments, solo sounds and pre-programmed rhythms and audio tracks. It is also possible to play along to MP3 files, which you can open directly from a USB stick or a hard drive and play via the built-in speakers. You can use these external devices to store your own creations as audio files as well.

The BK-5 is equipped with a video output, which enables you to display the song lyrics of MP3 files, among other things, on a TV or projection screen by means of a standard video cable. The MIDI software on your computer can be controlled by means of the second USB connector of the keyboard, or via the classic MIDI connectors. In short, this highly complete yet accessible backing keyboard is ideal if you already have a bit of musical experience, but makes a great starter model as well. Thanks to its versatile functionality, it is also a great asset for one-man bands that mean business. Daily playing pleasure is guaranteed!

4 weken geleden mijn oude vertrouwde E-16 vervangen door BK-5. Op het eerste oog een schitterend instrument. Helaas bevat hij wat mankementjes. Zoals het ongevraagd vergrendelen van de tone; bij een aantal tone's een storend piepgeluid in het middensegment; het wegvallen van het volume bij toepassen van de balans. Daar staat tegenover dat er een aantal schitterende begeleidingen in zitten en door de smallere toetsen het makkelijker is om een heel octaaf te pakken. Ook had ik verwacht dat er voor de Roland paketten met performances zouden zijn, zoals Yamaha dat heeft, maar die zijn er gewoonweg niet. Jammer.

This keyboard has had a firmware update since and has had all of the issues resolved.
I have had the instrument for 7 years now and it works flawlessly and the sounds are excellent.
I would recommend this keyboard as it is packed with features that you would expect from a flagship model.
