There are various different versions of the Lava Cable Retro Coil available, of which this model features one right-angled and one straight jack plug. Until quite recently, having a coiled instrument cable meant compromising sound quality, but thanks to the Retro Coil those days are now over! Lava Cable also made sure to tackle many other inconveniences that coiled cables are known for. Retro Coil: core, shielding and plugs

As we mentioned before, this particular Lava Cable Retro Coil features one straight and one right angle jack plug, both made by the renowned G&H company. The cable's core is made of 99.99% oxygen-free copper, ensuring low capacitance - which is highly favourable, as high capacitance means more loss of signal. Furthermore, the braided shielding protects the signal from external noise, and is also made of the same high-grade copper. In short, minimal signal loss and optimal noise reduction result in an excellent signal-noise ratio!

Retro Coil: jackets

For all that the core of the cable is made of excellent, high-quality materials, Lava Cables certainly didn't forget about the outside of the cable. The outer jacket is both highly durable and remarkably flexible, as well as very lightweight. It's very easy to stretch, and coils up nicely once you remove the tension. Furthermore, underneath the outer jacket is an inner PVC jacket, which helps protect against the increased levels of noise that a coiled cable is susceptible to.
