Taking a fair few steps back in time to the '70s and when Roland had just released the RS-505, the world was introduced to a string section synthesizer with a beautifully fat and enveloping, warm sound. Think Vangelis' lush Blade Runner soundtrack, and you know exactly what we're getting at. While there are a few synths that did just as good a job, like the VP-330, the RS-505 is still considered the very best of them, and here, you can slap one on your very own desktop in the shape of the Xils Lab 505. A virtual, software-based love-letter to the original hardware, this soft-synth even comes with more than just strings, but also offers its own synth-section, bass-section, and a choir-section! Throw in the four BBD chorus units, the extensive modulation matrix, and the generally more intelligible and user-friendly parameters, and you might have something even better.
