The PSM900 wireless in-ear monitor system by Shure offers a great combination of high sound quality, a reliable radio frequency reception and many professional functions that can also be found on its more expensive sibling, the PSM700. The CueMode offers the sound engineer the option to listen to several stage mixers via one press of a button. The settings can be restored per individual mixer. This can be done with up to twenty different mixers. Thanks to the improved digital stereo coding, the audio signal is clear and noise-free.

Functionality

The P9T is the wireless transmitter of the PSM900, which forms the basis of your PSM900 system. The transmitter can easily be connected via the 1/4-inch jack and XLR inputs that can also be daisy chained in order to connect several P9T transmitters. The connection with the P9R receiver can be made easily and quickly, it is merely a case of pushing two buttons and the infra- red connection between the two devices does the rest! The strength of the RF signal is adjustable so that you can decide for yourself how powerful you want the signal to be. At full power you will be supplied with over 100 metres of range (under ideal circumstances), which should definitely be enough for practically all personal monitoring jobs.

Operating Modes and Frequency Band

The transmitter is equipped with three modes: mono, stereo and MixMode. In mono mode you will simply have a mono signal that is divided over both ears. In stereo mode the process is similar, but in that case you will have a left and right signal, the balance of which can be adjusted with the rotary balance knob. MixMode is a different mode altogether, where instead of a stereo signal, two mono signals are connected to one another and the volume can be adjusted via the balance knob. This model operates on frequency band G7E, making it very well suited for use in Belgium.
