With the iRig Micro Amp, IK Multimedia once again show off just how good they are at designing awesome and unique bits of kit. The iRig Micro Amp isn't just any electric guitar amp, it's an ultra-compact model that manages to pack an astonishing amount of power while able to fit inside a backpack! For its size, 15 / 7.5 Watts is already a lot, but you'll notice Micro Amp sounds even louder than you'd expect and, on top of that, boasts genuinely sublime tone. Connecting a PC, Mac or iOS Device
You might be thinking, 'Great, three sounds. That's it?' Well, not exactly! First of all, as a guitarist, you can pull a whole slew of timbres out of this plucky little amp by using the Gain control and 3-band EQ. Also, by hooking up the Micro Amp to your iPhone, iPod or iPad (see specs for compatible models) or your Windows or Mac computer using the included cables, then downloading and installing the free AmpliTube CS iOS app or Amplitube 4 software for Windows/Mac, you gain access to an entire range of amplifier models and guitar effects, as well as live and recording options.

Als (her-)beginnende guitarist had ik geen behoefte om al een Combo te kopen. Je moet al goed weten welke stijl je wilt spelen om daar de juiste keuze te maken. Ben fan van apps zoals Tonebridge en Amplitube. Mijn setup met een Apogee jam AD converter en iPhone werkte slecht en alle pogingen met kabeltjes en adapters mislukte. Om toch die kleine footprint the behouden is iRig Micro Amp de perfecte oplossing. Het ziet er in het echt beter uit dan op de foto's. Ook mijn iPhone8 werkt nu stabieler dan met andere externe audio interfaces. De knoppen op de Micro Amp doen helemaal niets als een iPhone of PC aangesloten is (wat een goede zaak is). Het geluidsvolume is sterk genoeg, zelfs op batterijen (half vermogen). Wil je op termijn meer bas response (bv voor mini optreden), dan kan nog een extra cabinet aangesloten worden. Het enige nadeel is dat er geen DC adapter bij geleverd is, maar aangezien die mag variëren tussen 9 en 15 Volt had ik vlug iets in huis gevonden die kon gebruikt worden.
