The Q66-II is from Electro Voice's Q series, which was developed to provide excellent audio quality with a lot of headroom and good peak response. The design of the Q66-II is such that it has a 30% higher output signal compared to other amplifiers in its class, and as such experiences less peak distortion. This particular model is excellent for use in both mobile applications and fixed installations, and you're certain to find it in such places at concerts, theatres, clubs and mobile discotheques.
Safety
All of the Q series amplifiers are equipped with a comprehensive safety system. That means that the Q66-II is protected from overloading, overheating, short-circuiting and power supply irregularities. With such a system in place, you can rest assured that you won't be getting any grief from unexpected peaking or distortion. Furthermore, the Q66-II is equipped with two ventilators that quietly and efficiently cool the amplifier during use.
Features
The Q66-II can be set up in a variety of configurations. If you want, you can use it as a stereo (or double mono) amplifier. You could also use it to amplify one signal via two channels for large installations, or as a powerful mono-amplifier in the bridge mode. This Electro Voice amplifier is also equipped with an LPN filter (low-pass notch). This filter corrects the frequency and phase response of the connected speakers, resulting in a more powerful bass that packs a lot more punch.

Omdat ik mijn oude Dynacord P-1050 versterker heb opgeofferd voor het versterken van mij nieuwe EV ELX-118 subwoofer, heb ik deze versterker aangeschaft voor het versterken van mijn (oude) EV SX-200 topjes. En ik moet zeggen: de combinatie klinkt fantastisch. Ruim voldoende vermogen en een acceptabel gewicht. Ik ben in al die jaren toch wel een echte ElectroVoice liefhebber.
Wel één minpunt (daarom 4 sterren): ik vind dat de ventilatoren heel veel herrie maken. Ze draaien niet continu, maar zelfs op laag volume (en dus weinig vermogen) gaan de ventilatoren af en toe loeien. In een live situatie zul je daar weinig last van hebben, maar wil je de versterker in een stillere omgeving gebruiken dan kun je wel degelijk last van hebben. Zelfs mijn oude Dynacord P-1050 maakt niet zoveel herrie (als de ventilatoren al aanslaan, want dat gebeurt bij de Dynacord eigenlijk zelden).
