The Ibanez RG8PB Natural Flat is an affordable, 8-string, electric solid-body guitar with stunning looks and a modern sound. While rock and metal guitarists will love it, this Extended Range guitar is suitable for other genres too, thanks to its two passive, ceramic humbuckers. Underneath the natural finish of the poplar top is a body made of mahogany. A 27-inch baritone neck made of maple and walnut is bolted on the RG body.
Ibanez RG8PB-NTF: sound, comfort and tuning
The Ibanez RG8PB has a full, creamy sound overall with just the right amount of bite for solid downtuned riffs. Its slim Wizard II-8 neck profile, 24 jumbo frets, and the trusted 15.75-inch fretboard radius make this model as easy and comfortable to play as possible. Ibanez has pulled out all the stops so that you can play this 8-string model with pleasure for hours on end. It's possible to use a bass string for the low F or F# for an extra tight feel.
IBZ8 humbuckers, electronics and a string-through body
The Ibanez RG8PB is equipped with two IBZ8 humbuckers that have ceramic magnets. These double-coil pickups deliver a deep, warm sound and ensure that the low tones have plenty of definition. The 3-way pickup switch and potentiometers for volume and tone give you an array of modern guitar sounds to work with. The RG8PB has a string-through-body bridge, which gives it excellent tuning stability even when downtuned. This construction also adds extra sustain to the overall sound.
