The Telecaster was Fender's first solid body guitar. it was an enormous hit among guitarists in the '50s and still one of the most used electric guitars because of its fierce, powerful tone and supple playability. This Standard Telecaster was built in Mexico and is an affordable alternative to the iconic classic with the same classic looks and sound as its big American brothers. This model has a 21fret maple neck and a solid maple body with a neat high-gloss black lacquer finish.
Standard Telecaster: a no-nonsense player
From the clear and sparkling lead sound of the bridge pickup to the full but twangy sound of the neck pickup, this Standard Telecaster is guaranteed to cut through the mix. The two single-coil pickups of this Tele have just a little more output than a vintage pickup, giving your guitar sound more punch and bite. The Telecaster is a real workhorse, made to perform day after day after day. With no more than a volume knob, tone knob and 3-position pickup switch, you're able to create a wide range of fantastic Tele sounds. Whether you play country, punk, rock or metal, there's no getting around a Telecaster.
The best of then and now
Despite the '70s style logo on its headstock and its distinctive classic shape, the Standard Telecaster has several modern features, such as fully shielded recesses for electronics and pickups that counter unwanted noise and that typical 50Hz hum. Also, the neck has a modern C profile, medium jumbo frets for easier string-pressing and high-quality self-lubricating machine heads. The vintage-style ash tray bridge has made room for a more modern bridge with six adjustable saddles for optimal tuning and intonation.
