Singer and guitarist Eric Clapton is a true blues icon. He has recorded many hit songs, such as Layla and Crossroads. His guitars enjoy similar fame, like his legendary Blackie Strat from the fifties after which this Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster electric guitar was modelled. This is, however, a modern edition with several special features like a set of hum-free Vintage Noiseless pickups and a highly versatile active tone control circuit. This particular guitar has an Olympic White finish and comes in a vintage-style tweed case.

Features of the Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster

This Stratocaster from Fender's Artist series was made with high-quality wood types: alder for its body and maple (one-piece) for its neck. This combination of wood types provides this guitar with a full, neat sound that has rich mids and sparkling trebles. The neck has a soft V shape and features 22 vintage-style frets as well as a modern, flatter 9.5-inch radius for more playing comfort. Like the original, the Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster has a vintage-style tremolo lock for more sustain.

Versatile TBX tone control and mid boost

The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster sets itself apart from other Strats by its highly versatile electronics. Beneath the first tone knob there hides the TBX tone control, consisting of a 250 kOhm and 1 MegOhm potentiometer stacked on top of each other. In position 0 to 5, this'll function as a normal passive tone control to filter out the trebles. In position 5 to 10, however, a purer sound with clearer basses and trebles is produced. The second tone knob also serves as mid boost that allows you to adjust the mids up to +25dB, making even single-coil pickups sound like fat humbuckers. Ideal for solos!
