In 1988, Yngwie Malmsteen was the very first artist to be honoured with their very own Fender signature model. Throughout the three decades that have since followed, this icon-among-guitars has picked up a few upgrades, including sunken strap-locks, deepened scalloped contours and improved pickups. The foundation of the Malmsteen Strat is formed by two pieces of specially selected alder. The body has then been coated in nitrocellulose lacquer that not only ensures close-to-immaculate resonance but allows this guitar to develop a character of its very own as it naturally ages. The set of Seymour Duncan Fury pickups can't be ignored either. These stacked single-coils combine to shape a pure, transparent, and articulate tone, further defined by outstanding dynamic response.

A Scalloped Fretboard for Even More Control

One of the more unique features of this Strat is the scalloped fretboard. Since a scalloped, arching trench has been carved out between each fret, you get an amazing grip on the strings, immediately supporting technique, speed, vibrato nuance, bends, and sheer expression. Meanwhile, the set of inlaid super jumbo frets provides the quality of feel you would only expect of a Custom Shop model and smaller, yet just as effective, details like the brass string-nut, Schalle 'F' machine heads, and large '70s-style headstock complete a guitar built with exacting standards, for exacting players.
