The Yamaha APX500III in black is an electro-acoustic steel-string guitar that belongs to the popular APX500 family. With this steel-string guitar, Yamaha offers an affordable instrument that excels in playability, reliability and sound. The APX500III, seen here with a chic black finish, is the successor of the APX500II. New features include an improved pickup system, along with even more attractive visual details. Together, these make this guitar an outstanding stage instrument with an impressively stylish look.
The thinline body of the APX500III
The APX500III features Yamaha's APX-style body. It is a few centimetres thinner than the body of an average acoustic guitar, and it's also a bit smaller overall. This means that the guitar is particularly comfortable to hold, and more importantly, doesn't suffer from acoustic feedback - characteristics that are extremely beneficial in live situations! Additionally, the size of the guitar, along with the construction and the spruce top, is responsible for the remarkably bright sound. The unmistakable APX sound hole (with its special synthetic 3D sound hole rosette) works to add depth to the mid-frequencies and clarity to the bass tones.
Amplification
If you want to amplify the APX500III, all you have to do is plug it into a mixer or acoustic guitar amplifier. You can also connect to an audio interface, for example, if you want more recording options. The new pickup system is incredibly sensitive, resulting in a powerful output to the System 66 preamplifier, with clear differences between piano and forte. The battery-powered System 66 preamp makes it possible for you to adjust your amplified sound to fit your taste, and to fit the acoustics of the room. It is also equipped with a handy tuner with display.
