The TC Electronic Magus Pro chews up your guitar signal with classic high-gain distortion via a full analogue, true bypass circuit that offers three different flavours of gain. The circuit has been specifically developed to recreate the slow slew rate of an LM308 op-amp, and besides full and detailed control over the gain and volume, you get access to a filter so that the top-end-bite can be tweaked according to your tonal preference. All of this has been wrapped up in a tight and compact yet durable housing with pedalboard-space-saving top-fitted jack ports.
The Magus Pro: Three Distortion Flavours
Flip the mini-switch on the control panel to toggle through the three differently flavouring distortions this stompbox has to offer. In first position is Classic, delivering a punchy mid-range and tight basses. Next, the Fat mode lays down an extra thick bass boost and does some special things with the upper-mids to shape the ultimate rock-tone. And finally, the Turbo mode activates the LED clipping diodes and frees up increased headroom alongside extra output.

Zelf in t bezit van een originele proco rat 2 usa 25 jaar oud. Deze nadert t echt goed. Heeft een iets moderne benadering maar ook de lekkere compressie die je bij t originele vind. Verder een zeer goed gebouwd pedaaltje en echt een goede sound. Raad deze zeker aan die liefhebbers zijn van de klassieke rat sound. Goed pedaal dit!

Zo veel meer dan zomaar een goede Rat kloon, want dat is het natuurlijk, vooral in de classic stand die eigenlijk in zijn eentje de prijs al zou rechtvaardigen. Maar het is ook een tone shaping tool van jewelste, vooral in de fat en turbo stand. Alles analoog en je kan prachtige drives on the fly inregelen. Hele natuurlijke romige compressie, hoe verder je de gain open gooit. Mijn gitaar zingt. Hij reageert heel natuurlijk op je volumeknop, cleans up wel, en je hoort hem ltijd in de mix, hoe zacht je hem ook mixt. Een aanrader, niet zomaar een distortion, veel, veel meer!
