An extra-powerful and more versatile version of the original chainsaw distortion, the Catalinbread Carbide takes the most extreme setting of the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal and pushes it a little further by splitting the signal into two paths: a clean boost path for guitars in a lower tuning, plus a wickedly powerful distortion path. The volume of both signal paths can be tweaked before they're mixed in parallel, while the Emphasis control can be engaged to tighten up the bass and lend more presence to the other frequencies. In short, if you demand in-depth control over the specifics of your distortion, the Catalinbread Carbide is exactly what you need.
