The alder top and underside aid resonance while the bass is given an extra kick by the SPL sides and beech back. The extra-thick playing surface also boosts the sensitivity of this professional percussive instrument, while inside, two snare units have been fitted, each with four wires that combine for an ultra-rich snare sound that can be accurately tweaked since each wire can be individually tuned via the screws on the underside.
