If you have a large selection of full-range speakers, it stands to reason that you should have an equally wide selection of subwoofers. That's why dB Technologies has added this 18-inch S118 subwoofer to the Sigma series. This subwoofer has borrowed a large number of its characteristics from other Sigma speakers.

Characteristics of the S118 active subwoofer

The S118 is a true powerhouse, thanks to the 18-inch woofer with 4-inch voice coil, which are fed by a 1,400W Digipro G2 amplification module. These components are mounted in a bass reflex cabinet construction for optimal support in the low frequencies - as low as 32 Hz! And with a maximum sound pressure of 134 dB SPL, this subwoofer really packs a punch.

Internal processing and setup

The internal 56-bit processor ensures that the signal is optimised before it is amplified. This is especially useful in the rental business, because you never know what kind of overdriven signals might be coming in. Furthermore, a 24-bit, 48 kHz A/D converter is responsible for translating the analogue signal to a digital version.
