This HK Audio Linear 5 LTS A is uniquely designed useing a long-throw speaker, wide range speaker. This horn-loaded speaker design is used to broadcast the sound of three 8-inch woofers and a 1-inch compression driver. The three woofers are arranged in a line-array configuration to enhance the range of the speaker. The result is a dispersion of 60 degrees horizontal to a precise 5 degree vertical. Phase shifting due to loop time differences are a thing of the past thanks to the driver and woofers' precise unison. On the inside, a Hemholtz resonator works on eliminating distortion while enhancing the acoustic characteristics of this speaker.
The HK Audio Linear 5 LTS A: Electronics
The Linear 5 LTS A two amps on board - one for the compression driver and another for the woofers (also known as a bi-amp-configuration). This results in 1,000 Watts and a maximum SPL of 140 dB with the renowned moderate weight and good transient response offered by D class amplifiers. The speakers are driven by a DSP unit which can be used to adjust the speakers' EQ and dynamic levels according to its environment. There are default settings available for a variety of spaces and situations, including a horizontal cluster, use with a sub-woofer, or stand-alone use.
Applications
As with all professional speakers, the HK Audio Linear 5 LTS A is built with wood. This speaker is designed to be stacked, and is ideal for the rental sector. When combined with a robust subwoofer from their Linear series, the possibilities are endless. Huge festivals, party tents and halls are a easy work for the Linear series set ups. Despite its impressive specs, this speaker is modest in size at only 26.8 inches making transportation a piece of cake. HK Audio has really raised the bar with the Linear 5 LTS A!
