The Seagull S6 has certainly earned its stripes - the natural version of this Canadian western guitar plays remarkably well. It's for good reason, after all, that the S6 has been the recipient of so many awards in the music world. The S6 Cedar Trans Red GT is the red, glossy version of the S6 Original. This Gloss Top model has a distinguished look, and the hand-polished nitrocellulose finish is long-lasting and lovely. You can expect a great price to quality ratio with this dreadnought!

Seagull S6 Cedar Trans Red GT: materials

Seagull is known for using quality materials, and as such, the top of this guitar is made from solid cedar. This wood type provides the S6 with a warmer, deeper sound, especially when compared to a spruce top, for instance. Laminated tops can't touch this Seagull sound! Besides the cedar top, the sides and back of this guitar are made of 3-ply laminated Canadian wild cherry wood, and the Silver Leaf Maple neck features a custom polished finish for comfortable playing. A 21-fret rosewood fretboard accompanies the neck, and is decorated with white position markers.

Fretboard, Tusq & headstock

Measuring in at 54.7 mm, the fretboard is a bit wider than that of the average western guitar, making it easier for beginners to play. The string nut is made from Tusq, a material from Graph tech that has self-lubricating properties, which helps reduce friction so your strings won't break as easily. The S6 also has a characteristic tapered Seagull headstock, which pulls the strings straighter so you can enjoy more stable tuning.
