In collaboration with drummer, Ronald Bruner Jr., Tama have managed to create a genuinely unique signature model snare: the Tama RB1455. The metallic orange finish and striking black hardware of this 14 x 5.5-inch format shell may look like it's been entirely shaped from steel, but we swear on all-things-Tama that it's not! This hybrid shell has been made from 6mm thick, 6-ply walnut that's been coated in a 1mm-thick layer of steel. It's this ingenious construction that gives this snare its unbelievable dynamic range, raising it to a level that more than meets the exacting standards of eminent drummers such as Ronald Bruner Jr. himself.

He's worked with thrash band, Suicidal Tendencies, Jazz afficionado, Kamasi Washington, as well as greats like Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Chaka Kahn, Wayne Shorter and Ron Carter. So, whether you pound skins in a punk band, snap the beat for a straight-up pop line-up, or weave intricate jazz licks as part of an ensemble, this hybrid snare will offer every bit of tonal variety you're going to need. As befits a post-modern drummer, the tuning range is just as broad as the massive dynamic range, the stability of which is solidly assured by the mounted set of matte black lacquered Starclassic lugs and 10-hole die-cast tension hoops. The sound of this multi-dimensional snare is completed by a Remo Ambassador coated batter head and a Hazy Snare resonance head.
