This snare drum consists of a brass shell with a layer of black, nickel-plated steel. To make the whole a bit more attractive, Tama added some decorative engravings to the shell that show off the brass underneath the black steel. The nickel-plated steel gives this drum a bright, clear and well-defined attack, while the brass gives it a warm tone. Thanks to this shell, the Trackmaster has a very wide tuning range.

Hardware

Regardless of whether you crank it up or tune it down, this snare drum will always offer excellent definition. Die-cast hoops and ten tension rods keep it in tune and allow for a nicely balanced array of overtones, while helping you produce rich, powerful rimclicks and rimshots. The shell has a 14-inch diameter and is 5 inches deep, so it is the perfect size for all-round drummers to use it as a main snare drum. It allows you to do virtually anything.
