Known as the masterminds behind the Dyna-Sonic snares that defined the sound of the '60s and '70s, Rogers Drums USA is one of those brands whose reputation precedes it. While the company started out selling drum heads as early as 1849, it wasn't long before it expanded its production to snare drums and hardware and quickly became known as one not afraid to innovate and be creative. As a result, Rogers USA were the undisputed champions of drums between 1950 and 1980 but unfortunately closed down in 1983. Backed by an old generation of seasoned drummers, a group of investors managed to breathe new life into Rogers in 2013 with the mission to do the brand justice and create series of products that aren't only innovative but maintain high quality. Aside from a few subtle improvements, this new Rogers Dyna-Sonic is the same as a genuine '60s/'70s model. What's different, however, are the plastic washers on the tension rods for enhanced stability and a deeper design to really open up the low-end. Coated in a sleek Black Gloss Lacquer finish, the shell is made of five plies of maple reinforced by internal rings and measures 14 x 6.5 inches.

Beavertail Lugs

Naturally, this Dyna-Sonic snare drum is fitted with classic Beavertail Lugs for that instantly recognisable look. What you'll also find fitted are 1.6mm triple-flanged hoops, cast Rogers Script Logo Badge, an oval Dyna-Sonic badge, a clock face strainer and an adjustable interior damper. Expect full control over the sound, definition and sensitivity, and a large tuning range to accommodate virtually every style. This snare is built to bring out and define your unique sound and character with all its might.

Choke-Free Snare Rail System

So what's the one thing that definitively sets a Dyna-Sonic apart from other vintage snare drums? It might well be the Choke-Free snare rail system, which was revolutionary when it was first released. Before its invention, drummers were forced to manually tighten the snare. With the snare wires were attached to the resonant drumhead, this wasn't always as easy as it sounds and the increased tension often led a muted sound. The Choke-Free rail system, on the other hand, includes a floating 'bed' for the snare wires to sit on to ensure these only barely touch the resonant drumhead. No more rattling snare wires, no more muted resonant drumheads! All you're left with is a superior sounding snare that captures even the smallest of details. Finally, using the one-button tension system, the Dyna-Sonic Beavertail can be easily and accurately tuned.
