The Yamaha MP HR 31D4 French horn mouthpiece is excellent if you're looking for a darker tone, and it features a cup and throat specifically designed for easy playing.

Standard Series

Any musician will tell you that preferences about the looks, feel and playability of an instrument are completely personal, and that counts for mouthpieces as well. The smallest differences in mouthpieces can hugely impact the timbre and performance of an entire instrument, making mouthpiece preferences incredibly important. With this in mind, Yamaha produces an enormous number of unique mouthpiece divided amongst the Standard, GP, Silver 925 and Signature series. The Standard series is the most affordable of the bunch, but still offers excellent Yamaha quality.
