As we mentioned, the FG720S is a solid top guitar. This means that it resonates much better than the cheaper laminated counterparts, resulting in a fuller, richer sound and outstanding volume. The sound of a solid top will also become more mature as the guitar ages, so you can be sure you're investing in your future as a guitarist. The sides and back of the FG720S are fashioned from nato, commonly referred to as eastern mahogany. This wood delivers a warm, deep sound with rich mids that go wonderfully with the lively, sparkling sound of the spruce top. All in all, this is a western guitar with a big sound for a small price.

Yamaha's eye for detail

The FG720S makes use of Yamaha's reverse L-block design, which transfers the vibrations of the strings more quickly to the body of the guitar. This results in more depth in your sound and better tone, along with improved stability of the neck joint. The larger size of the rosewood bridge helps the sound carry better from the strings to the top, resulting in bright, clear mids and an overall full and balanced sound. Finally, the FG720S is simply and tastefully decorated with real mother-of-pearl inlays on the headstock and cream-coloured bindings along the neck and body for a stylish look.
