The HS-2 is an ideal recorder if you don't need to record too many sources simultaneously. It offers outstanding audio quality and even serves as an A/D converter, recording the analogue input signal to a CompactFlash card. The stored data can then easily be transferred via USB storage devices.

The colour touch screen: the basis of the HS-2

A good recording starts with high-quality equipment and as such, your recording setup cannot do without the HS-2. The colour touch screen of the solid-state recorder offers a clear overview of your incoming signal and allows you to make quick adjustments to your settings.

Other important, indispensable functions of the recorder

High-quality equipment provides a solid basis for your recordings, but it's the little things that make a recording special. Fortunately, Tascam has a good eye for detail. Features like a headphone output, neatly closed CF slots and digital inputs and outputs are all provided. Another noticeable feature is the pre-record buffer. When the HS-2 is on recording standby, the signal input is recorded to a built-in memory for up to five seconds. Once you press 'record', this buffer is automatically added, ensuring that your recording is not tainted by timing or start-up time problems.
