This five-piece shell set in Red Blue Hybrid Sparkle comes from Mapex' Saturn IV Maple Hybrid series and is made from two strong types of wood: North American maple and walnut. These wood types provide the clear and rich sound that Mapex drums are known for, the authentic Mapex sound! This five-piece shell set is equipped with upgraded hardware: the SONIClear tom mounting system and the SONIClear floor tom legs, the low-contact bass drum claw hooks and bass drum spurs with the Memory Mark system. Even the Mapex badge has been redesigned, along with the lugs.

The Mapex SNM628XFPH Saturn IV MH shell set in Red Blue Hybrid Sparkle has 6-ply shells for the toms and floor toms, and the bass drum has 8 plies. The toms are equipped with the SONIClear tom mounting system, which allows them to resonate freely and contains the vibrations within the shells and drumheads. The toms are 10 and 12 inches in diameter, while the floor toms are 14 and 16 inches, and all of them are fitted with Remo Emperor Clear drumheads. The 22-inch bass drum has a Remo P3 bass drumhead and is fitted with low-contact claw hooks that have a rubber lining to prevent them from rattling while you play, and to protect the finish of your bass drum hoops.
