This four-piece shell set in Natural Ash Burl comes from Mapex' Saturn IV MH Exotic series, and is a jazz kit that can also be used for other genres, and will not disappoint in either live or studio settings. This drum set consists of hand-crafted 7-ply shells for the toms and a 9-ply shell for the bass drum, which are all made of North American maple and walnut. The authentic Mapex sound is the rich and deep tone that the shells produce, and with the beautiful, hand-lacquered Natural Ash Burl finish, you're just as likely to keep staring at these drums as you are to play them.

This Maple Hybrid series shell set has a 20-inch bass drum that is equipped with new SONIClear claw hooks. These have a rubber lining that prevents them from damaging your hoops and also from rattling while you play. The toms are 10 and 12 inches in diameter, while the floor tom measures 14 inches. These toms are ideal for fast playing. With their Remo drumheads, they have an excellent, quick response, perfect for lightning fast fills! Plus, the toms also have a short, clear tone, which leaves plenty of room for a rapid succession of notes. With the SONIClear tom mounting system, the toms also resonate better and their vibrations are contained within the shells and drumheads.

Hardware and drumheads

Unlike the other shell sets from the Maple Hybrid series, the Exotic models are fitted with black chrome hardware, which gives this set a striking look! Furthermore, besides the SONIClear bass drum claw hooks, there is also the SONIClear tom mounting system and SONIClear floor tom legs. And with the new Memory Mark system, your bass drum will have the perfect height every time. The Mapex Saturn IV MH shell set in Natural Ash Burl comes with Remo Emperor Clear drumheads on the toms and the bass drum is fitted with a Remo P3 batter head. And finally, you'll also receive two tom holders and two multi clamps.
