The Mapex Saturn IV MH (Maple Hybrid) series of drum sets has seen a number of upgrades, compared to earlier Saturn drum kits. This shell set, the MH Merlot Burst, is equipped with the SONIClear tom suspension system and SONIClear floor tom legs, low-contact bass drum claw hooks, Memory Mark bass drum spurs, the redesigned Mapex badge and lugs, free-floating bass drum mount (optional) and a beautiful finish.

Mapex Saturn IV MH Merlot Burst: maple and walnut

The Mapex Saturn IV MH Merlot Burst from the Maple Hybrid series has 6-ply shells for the snare and toms, and an 8-ply shell for the bass drum. The shells are made of North American maple and walnut. This kit has a 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and 14 and 16-inch floor toms. With its new finish and a plethora of improvements, this Mapex MH in Merlot Burst is really a new dawn for the Maple Hybrid series.

Hardware

By reducing contact with the hoops and reducing the weight, the low-contact bass drum claw hooks ensure enhanced resonance. They are also fitted with a rubber lining, which prevents them from rattling while you play, and from damaging the finish on the wooden bass drum hoops. The SONIClear tom suspension system enhances the toms' resonance by keeping the vibrations contained within the shells and drumheads. The system does not make contact with the tension rods, which ensures that your heads stay in tune much longer and are easier to replace. The Mapex Saturn IV MH in Merlot Burst has high-quality chrome hardware, which can withstand prolonged stress.
