The Blaster is a Black Panther snare drum that was designed by the specialists at Mapex, together with a number of their international endorsers. Their goal was to create a range of very different snare drums, and they definitely succeeded. Every snare drum in this series has its own distinct character, and this Blaster is no different.

Reinforcement ring

The Blaster is made of a combination of a maple shell with a walnut reinforcement ring on the inside. It is the only snare drum in the series that has this feature. This 4 centimetre wide ring helps reinforce the shell.

Dynamic

If you want something different than the usual 14-inch snares, this Mapex Blaster is a serious contender. The smaller diameter combined with the greater depth of the shell, gives this snare drum a completely different dynamic. This snare drum is as powerful as a regular 14-inch, but it sounds just a bit sharper. Of course, a snare drum of this side is especially well suited for people who like to tune it quite high, but even if you stick to the middle ground, this snare drum will surely sing!
