Gimmick or not, the Ibanez RG550XH-BK looks rather impressive with its deep cutaway. This cutaway isn't just a fancy feature, it was actually necessary considering the fretboard has no less than 30 frets. The 30 frets will reach six semitones higher than the 24 frets that are usually found on guitars from the RG series. This means that you can reach notes that almost go beyond the limit of hearing. With its radius of 400 millimetres, the rosewood fretboard is comfortably flat so that you can easily pump out the highest of scales. The Wizard III-neck is made of maple and consists of three segments for optimal stability, even when wood warping occurs after a while. The slender neck is very popular among virtuoso guitarists.
