If you know your Fender Stratocasters, it's usually easy to tell in which period they were manufactured. Characteristics like the size and shape of the headstock, the profile of the neck, or the number of screws in the pickguard could help you narrow it down. This Custom Shop Postmodern NOS Strat muddies the waters somewhat, however. That's because on this model, Fender has only used the best design elements from the Strat's 60-year history. The result is a recognisable, ergonomic design packed full of features to enhance its playability. This model has a stable quarter sawn maple neck with a compound fretboard radius. It's lightweight ash body has a thin nitrocellulose lacquer that gives it a traditional appearance and excellent resonance.

Custom Shop Postmodern NOS Stratocaster: sound

The Stratocaster's versatility has always set it apart from other models. This Postmodern NOS Strat has some clever features of its own that make a wide range of sounds accessible. Its white body is fitted with three extra-wound Custom Shop Fat '60's single-coil pickups for a bit of extra output. The middle pickup is reverse wound with reverse polarity. This prevents unwanted hum when the 5-way pickup switch is in position 2 or 4. High frequencies remain intact even at lower volumes thanks to a Tone Saver treble-bleed circuit on the volume potentiometer, so you always get the best Strat sounds.

Postmodern NOS series

With the Postmodern Series, the Fender Custom Shop's goal is to produce classic guitar models like the Stratocaster and Telecaster with the latest features. All of the models have a round laminated fretboard made of maple or rosewood, with a compound radius that goes from 9.5 to 12 inches for optimal playing comfort. The NOS versions have a 'New Old Stock' finish. This means that you get a modern electric guitar with the characteristics of a vintage guitar, without the visual wear and tear of the Relic models. The Postmodern NOS Strat comes with a luxury case, CruzTools Tool kit, certificate of authenticity and other accessories.
