Fender 1980 Lead I (trade)
Allmänt
Here's your chance to own a piece of musical history. This guitar was made in 1981, and it shows. Its battle scars and aged lacquer greatly contribute to this exceptional guitar's vintage character. What makes it extra special is that all of its original components are still there and still in good condition. It'll come as no surprise then that it is very pleasant to play. The Fender Lead I quickly gained fame in the hands of Bono and the Edge as well as Eric Clapton thanks to its unique pickup configuration and playing comfort. If you're looking for a unique guitar with character and history, this is an excellent choice.
Construction:
The Fender Lead was originally designed to be an entry-level guitar for young guitarists. As such, it has a smaller alder body than a standard Strat and a very comfortable maple neck with a vintage-style Soft C profile and a 184mm radius. Especially for the time, the pickup configuration of this guitar was virtually revolutionary. With only a single humbucker at the bridge you can still choose from four different settings: humbucker, humbucker out of phase and two separate coils (split coil). Additionally, this guitar features a Master Volume and a Master Tone control.
Condition
The lacquer on this cult classic alone is enough to tell that this is a guitar from 1981. However, the damage is only due to cracking and not caused by bashing it into amplifier stacks or something. The neck and maple fretboard are in excellent condition and the frets are as good as new. It is likely that this instrument will turn out to be a good investment, as these guitars are an ever-rarer sight. What makes it even more interesting is that it comes with the original 1981 accessories: the original case, manual and tool kit. In addition to being a characterful player with a long history, this guitar is also a coveted collector's item.
