The shells of this five-piece fusion shell set are made of six plies of birch and maple. The combination of these two popular wood types ensures that you get the ultimate sound with great resonance and plenty of punch. When a drum set is made of two types of wood, it is called a hybrid kit. These hybrid kits are often praised for their enhanced tonal properties. The excellent resonance of the shells is partly owed to the SONIClear suspension system, which makes minimal contact with the shells and keeps the vibrations of the shells and drumheads contained within the toms themselves. The 20 x 18-inch bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks with a rubber lining. This lining doesn't just prevent the hooks from damaging the hoops of your bass drum, it also prevents the hardware from rattling as you play. With its Mantis Green finish, this shell set has a striking look, which is further enhanced by the black-plated hardware.

The bass drum in the Studioease models is what you'd call a 'virgin bass drum', which means it does not have a tom mount. Instead, the shell set comes with tom clamps and tom arms, which allow you to attach your toms to your cymbal stands.
