The Yamaha MP SL 47 S mouthpiece for trombone (small shank) is a great mouthpiece for prolonged periods of playing. Add the rich timbre and suitability for ensembles and orchestras and you'll see that this is a model to spoil yourself (and your trombone) with.

The Standard series

If your current mouthpiece doesn't play well then what's keeping you from getting a new one? Even if it does play just fine, don't underestimate the difference in sound and playability that a new mouthpiece can have. Yamaha manufactures an enormous collection of mouthpieces for all of the common brass instruments like trumpet, trombone, tuba and French horn. These 150 mouthpieces are divided up into four series, of which the Standard series is the most affordable. Don't be fooled though, because this series contains mouthpieces with excellent playing characteristics, good sound and the ideal weight.
