We seem to be in the middle of the second golden age of synthesis, the first of which Korg had a pretty big hand in. Carrying the Korg legacy with it, the Minilogue Series is one of their smash hits, and for good reason. These sonic conjurers are almost uniquely easy to get to grips with, offering a more straightforward intro to the synth-realm for the novice sound surfer. And now, we're treated to the Korg Minilogue Bass synthesizer. A subtle twist on the standard Minilogue, this model may feature a very similar control layout, but also features a more dangerous colour scheme - and a bank of new presets: each optimised for bass.

Putting the Bass in the Minilogue

The black and raspberry coloured keyboard is pretty awesome, but there is more to this model than just the aesthetics. As the modified name suggests, this is a 100% bass-focussed model and has been built for bassists as well as sound-designers. But it's also a synthesizer, so it can also weave sounds that stray far and away from the lower frequencies, making it a pretty flexible production and performance tool. Since this is a limited edition offering and only a few will ever be made, it's a collectors item in the making.
