The active presence switch ensures an articulated top high, and when disabled, the 2: Fifty output stage gives more warmth to your guitar sound. If you want to add a different character to your pre-amplified sound, the 6L6 tubes are interchangeable with EL34s and to do this, just flip the bias switch on the back. The fixed bias on this amplifier is also completely maintenance-free and will always get optimum performance from the Mesa Boogie tubes.
