The PRX passive speaker is the bigger brother of the PRX412, both sons of the renowned JBL company. This speaker also produces a clear sound with bright trebles, even at high volumes. The PRX-425 is especially notable because it houses not one, but two 15-inch woofers in addition to its tweeter, adding an extra dose of bass which makes it perfect for bands and DJs looking for a great sound and the convenience of a full-range cabinet. An added subwoofer, like the PRX418S for instance, only adds to its power.

High volumes without problems

The great advantage of the PRX-425's passive nature is that you can pick your own amplifier or powered mixer, instead of being stuck with the speaker's built-in amplifier. Once connected, this speaker is able to go on for hours on end - proven by submitting the series to JBL's own 100-hour long brutal power feed, a test that not many of their competitors can endure.

The PRX-425: ready for a life on the road

JBL made sure that their high-quality speakers are properly protected. For instance, the 18mm wooden housing is covered in a strong, scratch-resistant DuraFlex lacquer and its woofer and tweeter are protected by a tough, thick screened grill.
