Concert Tone Mandolin Pack: the instrument

The mandolin in this pack is what you call a Type A mandolin. These models first surfaced in the 20th Century. Where other models set themselves apart with unusual shapes and a lot of flashy design features, the Type A mandolins believe in keeping it simple. Of course, this makes them a bit less costly to produce, as well. Type A mandolins are characterised by their teardrop shaped bodies. In this case, the sides and back are made of laminated mahogany, and the top is made of laminated spruce. Furthermore, the nato neck features a 21-fret rosewood fretboard, and you can make minute adjustments, thanks to the double truss rod. Solid fender open geared tuners round out the instrument's design.
