Shure's WL series lavalier microphones are known for their tiny housing and condenser capsules. This particular model, the WL183, is equipped with an electret condenser microphone, which was specially designed for use in various wireless applications. To this end, the 120cm cable was fitted with a TA4F connector, so that you can easily connect the WL183 to any Shure beltpack transmitter. Furthermore, the Shure WL185 features a cardioid pickup pattern that protects the mic from feedback, as it only picks up sound within a 130-degree radius. Not only does that reduce the chance of feedback, it also means you won't have to aim the mic exactly at the sound source - it gives you some leeway. Finally, the WL185 comes with a tie-clip that can be rotated in 90-degree intervals, so that you can always find the perfect distance between sound source and microphone!
